Beyond brokering deals, however, Charlie is first and foremost a dedicated philanthropist. Altruism runs deep in the Meier family, who has funded the the training and education of men and women for government service through the Robertson Foundation for Government (previously an endowment with Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School for Public Policy and International Affairs) since 1961. Charlie has 20 years of experience in the non-profit arena, serving as treasurer for the Meier and Linnartz Family Foundation and as a current board member of the aforementioned Robertson Foundation For Government based in Washington, D.C. Charlie’s commitment to philanthropy extends to his community as well. In Charleston, his family has invested in many local nonprofits including the Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center and The Coastal Conservation League.
